On October 1, 1973, Werner and Karin Mützel founded the WEKA Specialist Publishing House for Public Authorities and Industry, thus laying the foundation stone for one of the most successful German specialist publishing groups with an international focus. Within the decades that followed, WEKA grew to become a corporate group and today has more than 20 companies throughout Europe.

Since April 2001, the WEKA Corporate Group has been structured in three divisions - WEKA Business Information, WEKA Mediagroup Munich and Creative Design. The shareholders in the Corporate Group are company founder Werner Mützel and his family.
